What's an example? I'm so confused, i can't seem to find it in my textbook or notes! What is it's role in an experiment? Thank for all the help!

You control is the variable that stays the same for both tests.
Say you are testing water temps
Your independent variable is heat or ice
Your dependent variable is the temperature itself.
Your control is factors that are consistent for both: water amounts, initial temps, container, time..exct.

A control is the object that stays the same if im not mistaken. The others are variables. The constant provides a result of how much the variable has changed. It is used sorta like a measurement. For more clarity google steps in a experiment.
