C.D.E.2. Duchennes muscular dystrophy is inherited as a sex-linked recessive alllele. From whom does a male with this disease inherit the defective allele?......
1.Hemophilia is inherited as a sex-linked recessive trait. If a woman whose father has hemophilia marries a man without hemophilia, what is the probability that their child will be a boy with hemophilia.
A. 0%
B. 25%
C. 50%
D. 75%
E. 100%
2. Duchenne's muscular dystrophy is inherited as a sex-linked recessive alllele. From whom does a male with this disease inherit the defective allele?
a. only his mother
b. the mother or the father, but not both
c.both the mother and the father.
d. it is impossible to determine with certainty using only the given information.
3. all of the following can be found in plasma membranes of eukaryotes EXCEPT:
a. cellulose
b.phospholipids
c. proteins
d. cholestrol molecules
4. during cellular respiration, ATP is generated by all of the following EXCEPT;
a. glycolysis
b. oxidative phosphorylation
c. biochemical pathways occurring in the cytoplasm
d biochemical pathways occurring in the mitochondria.
5. All of the following are end products of the light-dependent reactions of photosythesis EXCEPT:
a. ATP
b.O2
c. H+
d.C6H12O6

Please Please Please HELP.!!! i really need the answers, i seem i cant find them. && a sentence explaining the answer too, if thats no to much.

1. 25% because only one mutated allele is enough for a male to be affected with the disease since they're hemizigotes. the mother receives one x from her mother(XX) and one x with mutated allele from her father who has hemophilia (XhY) (so her genotype is XhX - she is the carrier) her husband's genotype is XY and the possible genotypes of their children is XhX (female carrier), XX (healthy female), XhY (boy with hemophilia), and XY(healthy male). so 25% of possible children would be boys with hemophilia.

2. a. because a male inherits one Y chromosome from his father since his mother just has two Xs, and the X chromosome carries the mutated allele which causes the disease, and since he receives X chromosome from his mother his father has nothing to do with the disease :D

3. a. because cellulose builds plant cell's cell wall, but not the membrane

4. not sure because glycolysis occurs in the cytoplasm, and o.phosphorylation occurs in the mitochondria and they both generate mitochondria. but i guess the answer is c. because biochemical pathways occurring in the mitochondria are mostly connected to energy production and there are various processes occurring in the cytoplasm soooo.. :D

5. d. because glucose is produced in the calvin cycle

hope this was helpful :)
