If we live on the 3rd planet of the sun, how come we never feel the earth moving in the universe ? do you feel the earth moving right now ?

answers:
Firestormer say: Yes,I feel the earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down, tumbling down
-
Sky say: Because we're all moving along with the planet and the entire solar system as it orbits through the galaxy, and moving along with the galaxy as it moves through the universe. What would you expect to feel, a stiff wind in your face?
-
Climate Realist say: Because the only force acting on Earth is the Sun's gravity.
-
Paula say: No.
But I sometimes feel the earth move:
a) when ...
b) and when there is an earthquake

Donut Tim say: Humans don't have the physical ability to detect motion. We detect "changes" in motion.

spot a say: So you have never ridden in a car traveling 30+ miles per hour or in a train, or in a plane flying at 500+ mph and noticed that you can't feel any movement, apart from a few bumps. The earth is too large to produce any bumps. Did you stay awake in science class?
-
say: it's a mystery how the earth can maintain a constant orbit round the sun for billions of years and also rotate at 1000 mph without any tremor or vibration , discounting the oceans the earth is a very peculiar shape and obviously was never just a ball of molten rock
-
. say: No, no movement here.
-
Bill say: We don't feel it moving because we are moving with it, and so is the air around us. There is no nearby "stationary" object for reference.
-
jimanddottaylor say: Everything we know on earth is moving with us. We have to compare where we are to other stars and planets. If you watch the moon (our closest neighbor) for a few hours you can see that it has (or we have) moved, but the distance between the moon and the earth is too great and the path traveled is too smooth.
-
PhotonX say: We don't feel speed, we feel acceleration (or deceleration). Is the Earth's spin accelerating? No, of course not. And this has nothing to do with whether we live on the 3rd planet, or the first or the tenth. So why the irrelevant detail?

Bill-M say: Repeat Question. Go away.
-
CarolOklaNola say: Because the semi circular canals are moving at the same speed as your location on Earth is moving. All we feel is a change in velocity. If you have experience Ced an earthquake, that was a change in velocity Ina lot of different directions in a short amount of time

Damien say: we dont live on the 3rd planet of the sun, we live in the 3rd planet closest to the sun, we dont feel it moving cause we are inside it and gravity balances our perception of not moving inside it, the planet is too damn big, youre too damn tiny, you dont even feel the plane moving when ur up in the sky
