So this is another type of answer to the question - the magical answer. The amusing thing about this answer is that the answerer seems completely self-assured that he/she has some magical power to know both that Earth has this purported magic, and that its magic is totally unique in the entire universe.

Because then they would have to admit they got it all wrong, the story of evolution and everything taught in schools and churches the world over is wrong.
Then they would have to admit that they have created a world of illusion where the rich man keeps the poor man distracted with materialistic crap instead of allowing us to live to our greatest good.
And then they would have to tell us that they know what our greatest good is. Why we are here. What it is we were placed on this earth to do.
Along with that they would have to allow us access to fuel-less energy systems. Because we all know energy is the main bank roller. Be it gas, petrol, diesel, coal, electricity it all costs.
There again to fill half the people with an idea that there could be a race alien to ours when really there is none would just create the opportunity for more false idols, religious conflict, war. Ideas snowball and what bigger con to keep the people scared than creatures from outer space?

There is not a single shred of evidence that aliens (= not on Earth) exist.
There is not a single shred of evidence that aliens do not exist.
The fact that we exist is not, by itself, proof that other must also exist (we are not "aliens" since that word implies "from elsewhere"). Our existence is merely proof that life CAN exist in the universe.
Analogy:
The number line (the set of all known numbers: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4... forever) is infinite. It goes on forever.
Clearly, the number 3 exists.
Is this sufficient proof to claim that another number 3 must exist somewhere else?
