UFO Invasion Possible

Famous astrophysicist professor Michio Kaku believes in the possibility of a UFO invasion. Too many sightings worldwide in places like Jerusalem, India, over Rome during the Roman empire and the list goes on and on, seems to indicate that maybe there is some truth to the movie Independence Day. What do you say?

I say he is entitled to his beliefs just like anyone else.

He is indeed a noted astrophysicist, but without proof (and he doesn't offer any) its just another person expounding a belief.

He also says he likes to think aliens are benevolent.

It's impossible. Travel to here would need to exceed the speed of light by several orders of magnitude.
In order to travel one twentieth of the diameter of our galaxy at 70% of the speed of light, it would take over 5,000 years. Human hibernation for that period is probably impossible.
In my opinion, life exists many places in the Universe, but so far apart and in so many possible variations, we'll never meet intelligent beings from beyond. Except in books and movies. Yay for fiction.

There have not been any sightings of aliens or alien spacecraft.

A UFO is not an alien space ship. An alien spaceship is going to be a mile long or more and in earth orbit. They won't be flitting furtively over the Vatican.

Michio Kaku is only stating the obvious. --- namely that if aliens do come here they might enslave us.

Then again, they might not. They might not be like us. They might be friendly.

We are going to have wait for the day when an alien arrives.

And there is no sign that's gonna be any time soon.

For instance if an alien spacecraft was heading here now, they might send communications toward us that we could detect from 50 light years away --- while they are still thousands of years from actually arriving.
