I am doing a science project and I was wondering if anyone knew if snails can learn. More specifically, I mean would they be able to recognize situations or things like if salt hurts them.

Since snails possess a central nervous system and a rudimentary brain system, they can recognize certain scenarios and feel pain. Furthermore, snails possess natural instincts that help them react. However, they probably don't have the greatest emotional or intellectual minds, so I doubt they feel sad or mad or any form of emotion at all for any time over a second.
