I would like to hear thoughts and theories on the subject. With the thick Ice that is formed all over the planet's surface to stop a large percentage of radiation from reaching underneath the ice and the constant varying gravity from it's elliptical orbit with Jupiter causing cracks in the ice all over the planets surface being a good indication that there is enough energy to suggest that there might be large amounts of water under the ice on parts of the planet.

There is a belief that there might be microbial life on Europa which is why the Gallileo probe was crashed into Jupiter to avoid any possibility of contamination, just in case. That way if a future mission finds any life on Europa it can't be argued that it came from Earth.

It would be fascinating. But at this point it is all speculation.
It will be a while before we are able to colonize bodies that far away.
