Planetary alignment and blackout

No harm possible. The Earth is gravitationally affected by the Sun and the Moon. The Moon because it is close and the Sun because it is massive. No other objects in the Solar System have any noticeable effect on the Earth. Even if you lined them all up, which never happens, the total gravity would raise the Earth's tides by a fingernail thickness.

Really? I thought it was only about the mayan calendar ending, which is no wonder after thousands of years, the guy got bored or dead...

Yeah we'll all die then, the planets will align, the gravity will cancel each other out, out the planets out of orbit and it will all fall into oblivion!!!

Now give me money! Buy my anti-gravitation necklace so you'll be able to float in the nothing. And be resurrected on the blue sun. (hehehe. those are hotter, talk about burning in hell.)

I'd like to see that, I wonder if we'll see something in the sky, probably some dots... well, enjoy the hats and key chains.

There is no harm what so ever from planetary alignments (when a few planets line up in the sky). Those are just theories made up by high school drop outs wanting to make a quick buck.

They simply mean they are WAY to ignorant to know any better.

"These people" mean "give me your money for my scary stories". The only harm is to your wallet.

The only alignment I am aware of is on Dec, 21st, 2012 our solar system will pass thru the galactic center. That is to say we will begin our 22000 year travel on the other side of the galactic central mass. No blackouts predicted. I was around in 1982 (?) when all the planets aligned on the same side of the sun and nothing happened then, but everyone was panicked about the "Jupiter Effect". The world just kept happening just like it will on 12/21/12.
