1) Yes, very easy to use.
2) Does not rack objects in the sky automatically, but makes up for it with its light weight and ease of use.
3) No.
4) You will get superb views of the Moon: more detail than your eye and brain can absorb.
5) It is a Newtonian reflector on a Dobsonian altazimuth mount.
6) It is as user friendly as a telescope can be.
I highly recommend this telescope for any beginner.
[Edit] Tom Butler: "The only downside that I could think of is that it doesn't zoom in much. It can't go much larger than the moon, really."
I don't understand this. This telescope is capable of a wide range of magnifications with additional eyepieces. It's sold with a basic 25mm eyepiece yielding 48x. Additional eyepieces sell for about $50 each. For starters I'd recommend a 12mm (100x) and a 6mm (200x) to give youa nice variety of magnifications.

The XT-8 is a great starter telescope. However, you do all the work in finding stuff.
You might want to consider getting a book or more that will help you find stuff -

And consider joining an astronomy club (if there is one one). A decent club helps to shorten the learning curve that comes with the hobby and provides opportunities such as outings called star parties where you and club members spend an evening or weekend out at a dark sky site.

Lastly, get a magazine subscription to one of the popular astronomy magazines -
