Hats such as caps. Do they really block sunrays from the face?
I know the rays don't travel horizontally but I always thought they were diagonal/slanted rather than perfectly vertical.

If the sun is above the bill of the cap, it does. You still get reflected sunlight in your face.
Pretty simple to test. Put a baseball cap on and walk out into the sun. If you can't see the sun, then the hat is blocking the light.

Depends on the color of the cap and if it has a brim or not. Yes, they really do block sunlight from getting in your eyes so you don't get a glare headache. Not everyone is photosensitive, but a lot of people ARE photo sensitive to varying degrees. Besides, caps and hats are such a cool fashion accessory.

Those of us who are serious about skin cancer wear closely woven canvas hats with wide brims. Here in Canada, Tilley hats are very popular and work very well.
