2(m - n^2) - 6(n^2 + 3m)

There is a section that's just mathematics on Y!A.

For this, multiply out as shown, being careful of whether a term is - or +:
2(m - n^2) - 6(n^2 + 3m)
= 2m - 2n^2 - 6n^2 - 18m
Gather the alike terms together:
= - 2n^2 - 6n^2 + 2m - 18m
= -8n^2 -16m
= -8(n^2 + 2m)

-
nvm.
