How much years do humans have until global warming kills us all

ALL?Some descendant of ours will still be around (if global warming is the only factor worth considering) until the Sun gets so hot, that it effectively boils our oceans and the increasing solar winds strip away our atmosphere. This will be a gradual process over a long period of time prior to the Sun becoming a red giant.Ive seen estimates that this heating will be destructive to life as soon as a few hundred million years, up to a billion years from now.......
Each year global warming gets worse, even with steps to reduce it, it will always be progressing slowly. how long do we have until it kills our race?

All of us?

ALL?

Some descendant of ours will still be around (if global warming is the only factor worth considering) until the Sun gets so hot, that it effectively boils our oceans and the increasing solar winds strip away our atmosphere. This will be a gradual process over a long period of time prior to the Sun becoming a red giant. I've seen estimates that this heating will be destructive to life as soon as a few hundred million years, up to a billion years from now. Both figures have good reasons, and there are enough unknown variables to say both are just estimates.

It is more likely that human descendants will not be homo sapiens at that point in time. It is also more likely that we will become extinct by some other means, before that period of time elapses.

The concern about global warming is that it affects resources and the food chain. If less resources and less food is available, more people starve to death before reproducing than they do now. The population will drop, but there will still be enough food and resources to sustain our species, just not necessarily your great-grandchildren or mine, but someone else's.

It's unlikely that global warming as we know it will kill us all. One problem is that it destroys or seriously alters natural habitats, which in turn affects food chains. This has huge ramifications for the environment, if you think about it for a while. Another problem is the changes caused to sea life (which ties in with the first one) and the effect on fishing stocks, and the changes to agricultural land and its ability to grow food. In a more immediate way, warming causes more extreme swings of weather.

Humans as a species can deal with these things physically, but there is potential chaos in the food and water wars that could result. The species will survive, but many individuals may not. You may need to ask a sociologist about the social effects of less arable land and fresh water.
