Why doesn't is hurt to look at the sun at night

I have always wondered why it doesn't hurt my eyes to do it during the night and why does it have two names? is moon night sun in a foreign language? does it move further away from the earth at night? maybe it's affected by the dark? i was home schooled and my mother didn't want be to know about the sky

The moon is not a sun, when it s night out away from the sun and were facing the moon. The other side of earth sees the sun and the sun hits the moon and illuminates it. And the reason we see crescents and stuff is because the earth is blocking some of the light, only illuminating part of the moon.

The Moon has a low albedo, somewhere around 0.12 I think. The Moon is less bright than the Sun because it doesn't reflect a very high percentage of the sunlight. Think about what happens when you shine a really bright light on asphalt. Notice how it is easier to look at the asphalt than it is to look at the flashlight? Same principal.

Actually the sun is not related to the moon. They are both different things.
