I've heard that December 21, 2012 will be the date that the world ends. True or untrue

I'm totally scared because I've heard predictions that the world will end on Winter Solstice in 2012. Please help me get over the fear!

No, it isn't true. Nobody could predict the future and all the hoaxes are fake. Just do some deep research about 2012

The 13th baktun will end on December 21, 2012, and immediately following will be the start of the 14th. (The Maya count by 20s... a tun is almost the same as our year, and a baktun is 4,000 tun.

Nothing else of any significance is expected -- summer will begin in the southern hemisphere, and winter in the northern hemisphere. The Earth, Sun, and galactic center will be aligned the same way they will be aligned in a couple weeks (and every other year, at the time of the winter solstice.

None of the other things that have been proposed as reasons for the world ending in a year are any more valid.

Hey don't worry about this prediction. I think these people had derived it from the Mayan calender, which recent studies suggest that it actually extends another 50 years or some sort. It just seems so soon and the thing is that they've made other predictions that proved to be false such as that 2001 I think that was it and then previously about the one in 2011. Yes, the Mayans were a superior people, very much more sophisticated than modern scientists. Their rock-powered computers could handle the required calculations that our computers cant, and so they were able to determine when the world will end.

The end was predicted by the Mayans, who are a long-dead civilisation. It's about as believable as Harold Camping's predictions (and if you believe that guy's predictions you are a fool).

I think there is some truth to the predictions. The Mayans were a very smart people and everything they have said so far has come true. I'm a little scared too.

Its like y2k times 100. Solar flares, the dark rift, magnetic pole shift, planet x,yellow stone super volcano. We will have to wait and find out.
