5m-2=2m+4????????????

Pls don't just give the answer I need to know how to solve this type question!

First you seperate the numbers from the numbers with the variables (subtract 2m from both sides 5m-2=2m+4
-2m -2m --> 3m-2=4) Then you leave the last variable by itself (3m-2=4
+2 +2 --> 3m=6) divide the variable by the coefficient (3m=6
/3 /3 --> m=3) Answer m=3 :D

Super easy: 5m-2=2m+4
5m=2m+6
3m=6
m=2

All you need to remember is: whatever you do to one side of the = has to be done to the other. EX: i added 2 to turn -2 into 0, but added it to the 4 as well and got 6

Add 2 to 4, then you'll have 5m=2m+6.
Subtract 2m from 5m, then you'll have 3m=6
Dvide 3 into 6, then you'll have 2

Cmom man! 5m-2=2m+4. Add 2 to each side to get 5m-2+2=2m+4+2. Then 5m-0=2m+6. Subtract 2m from both sides. 5m-2m=2m+6-2m=6 or 3m=6 and m=6/3=2

5m-2=2m+4. Add 2. 5m=2m+6. Subtract 2m. 3m=6. Divide by 3. m=2
