Is dark energy real in your opinion

I am interested in all answers. In my opinion yes it is real and it is very evil.

They *do* see something affecting the mass of our galaxy, so I believe it's real. Evil? I don't think any energy is good or bad - it just *is*.

Dark matter/energy was inserted into the big bang theory because it conveniently covered gaps in relativity, a theory that Einstein discovered and was never truly convinced about it.

The fact remains that despite numerous tests the existence of non-barionic matter has never been proved.

NB barionic matter contains the properties of matter which we can see and can prove.

Holy cow.. mention the word "dark" and you're in deep doo-doo !! The world is going bonkers !!
I have written about Dark Energy in my book. It is the creative energy, not evil as you propose. All matter and energy originates with DE.

Dark matter is just simply matter which we can not see because it does not emit light. Even though we can not see it we can detect it by its gravitational effects. My opinion is that there is nothing exotic about dark matter. It is just ordinary matter, in the form of dust and planets which is too cold to emit visible light.

The adjective "dark" comes from not being able to detect it directly (such as in "dark matter"), and "energy" comes because it appears as a component in the energy-momentum tenson in Einstein's field equations. And that's it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_energy
