I am 14 and I am interested in having a career in reptile or amphibian handling or studying. I have had a couple lizards and I know a little bit about them. Can someone tell me what to study/learn to prepare for a career involving animals like that.

There are very few career opportunities in herpetology. However, if you want to persist, you can maximize your chances of finding a job by first earning your Ph.D. degree, which means four years of undergraduate study followed by four to five years of graduate study. Your course of study will include organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physics, botany, zoology, physiology, calculus, and statistics.

Go to college for wildlife biology and then get your Ph.D in herpetology. You could be a reptile expert and make some good money :). If you love them and you're committed, you can't fail.
My brother use to want to be a Herpetologist. I thought that was awesome, but now he wants to be an accountant- Boring! :P
