Some spiders I've seen what are they

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-07-06] [Hit: ]
What kind of spiders are these?-This is a very unusual description, as the only black spider that might be this large would be a tarantula, and they are not normally found in the northeast. The black house spider can be found on the east coast, but they dont get more than a 2 inch legspan.......
Okay so I live in Newfoundland and I've never seen these two spiders before, one was pitch black and almost as big as my palm if it wasn't, I've seen two so far (second being very small compared to the first that was almost as big as my palm). The second spider I've only seen recently was on my pool I was moving it and saw it there it was black but had a orange color on it's head (and in the pattern of a "H" almost looked like a bumble bee with 8 legs and eyes, and if it was a bee I'm sure it would of flew at me and stung me after I flicked it off)and was probably as big as the second pitch black spider. What kind of spiders are these?

The black house spider can be found on the east coast, but they don't get more than a 2 inch legspan.
It may be possible the spider that resembles a bee is a common jump spider.
Wolf spiders can be near black, and they can get fairly large, but not much larger than the house spider. Species that can get to 3 inch legspan are normally a light to dark tan color.
these are wolf spiders:

Colors and patterns can vary for the jump spiders.
