Racoons can be dangerous and can have rabies, and they most likely have a large variety of calls, with different meanings. If you use it during mating season, then the parents may leave their young to come see you..etc

They are also mainly nocturnal.I would recommend simply visiting a wildlife rehabilitation center, and seeing if they have any racoons. They usually have a lot.

From working at a wildlife rehabilitation center, they seem very friendly. They have baby toys, blankets and everything in their cages, and they like to pull on people's hair.Once, I actually got afraid, since one was trying to open it's own cage.

When they are hurt, or sick, and are exposed to humans, they usually become friendlier. Most wild racoons don't go near humans, so I think the wildlife rehabilitation center, would be a safer idea.
