√3............
The problem is √3:(x-y)^2 times √3:(x-y)^10 help! i have tried to understand how to do this but i just cant figure it out! Please explain as clearly as possible. Thanks for any help!
the answer is (x-y)^4
But Why?

-
For the answer to be [x-y]^4 the question must be

cube root of [x-y]^2 times cube root of [x-y]^10

gives

[x- y]^2/3 times [x-y]^10/3

As base is the same we add powers when multiplying

2/3 + 10/3 = 12/3 = 4

Answer: [x-y]^4

-
I PROMISE you that is NOT the correct answer (at least to the problem you gave me)

√3..............√3
--------- X ----------
(x-y)^2....(x-y)^10
........3
--------------......ANSWER
(x - y)^ 12
