For the sake of this example,Conc.Vol 1= ?Conc.Plug those numbers into the equation and solve for V1. Good luck!......
You're given a stock solution of ATP at 250mM. What volume of the stock is required to make 170ml of a 20mM solution? Any help on how to calculate this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

My favorite way of solving dilution problems is to use the formula:

Concentration 1 x Volume 1 = Concentration 2 x Volume 2

It doesn't really matter which concentration is first, as long as you are consistent at matching it with the right volume. For the sake of this example, let's do this:

Conc. 1 = 250 mM
Vol 1= ?
Conc. 2 = 20mM
Vol 2 = 170 ml

Plug those numbers into the equation and solve for V1. Good luck!
