I have to do history fair and this project deals a lot with researching for history class. Like I want/am choosing a topic on how weather changed history in Chicago because of a specific weather event that occurred. I have to do research from the Chicago area because it's local for me so I was thinking of choosing a major weather event such as a heat wave we had like in the 1960's or a blizzard in the late 1960's or another one in the late 1970's. I'm scared that there won't be enough information about this and I really want to choose either one of these topics because nobody really does weather related history things and I wanna be a meteorologist, just saying. I am determined to do all this research. So, do you think I can pull this off knowing that there might not be so much information out there?

Good idea; however, none of the events mentioned (heat wave...in the 1960's or a blizzard in the late 1960's or another one in the late 1970's) 'changed history' in Chitown or anywhere else.
More better might be to examine how the city changed they way it warned and helped people who were in trouble as a result of the 1995 killer heat-wave.
Other major US cities learned valuable lessons from Chicago's experience.

The Great Chicago Fire was influenced by how dry the air was. Wind patterns also helped to spread the fire across the city. You can research what influenced the fire and what made it so severe.
