Do Medicare doctors suck

Like are they the "worst of the worst" and have they had like multiple malpractice settlements against them?

Also, do you have any choice over the doctor? I'm not trying to be picky I just don't want my knee sawed off.

I need knee surgery and don't have insurance, so I might have to get it done via Medicare.

Medicare is an insurance policy all the same. It's not like a doctor either sees only medicare patients or doesn't see them at all, they are all the same in the physician's eye. They don't even know what kind of insurance policy you have when they first see you. They go in, diagnose you, then explain treatment options and you both pick the best one based on your insurance, income, etc. I've shadowed physicians that are a part of the Twin Cities Orthopaedic group, the nations largest collection of a single specialty of physicians and they accept Medicare. Physicians do not go through 4 years of undergraduate, the months of preparation and thousands of dollars it can take to prepare for the MCAT test, money to apply to medical schools, money and time to travel to interviews, playing the waiting game to see if they made it, another 4 years of medical school, then 2-10 years of specialty training after medical school just to discriminate against people based on insurance. Yes there are bad physicians who stopped caring for their reasons, but a good physician is a good physician, they don't flip flop based on your insurance.

Okay this is a funny question because it is silly. A doctor is a doctor and they take patients from all insurances companies.
Medicare is an insurance companies just like any other just because they take medicare doesn't mean the doctors are bad doctors. So here is where Obama-care comes in handy, for people who don't have medical insurance can get insurance to help cover medical issue, with out it you wouldn't be able to get medical insurance with jumping through a whole lot of hoops.
Get your insurance, follow the rules of the program and choose your doctor, you can check up the doctors before you make your choice....Good luck....

All doctors have to maintain a high level of competency and must undergo professional development every year. Incompetent doctors are de-registered. A medicare doctor has the level of skills and knowledge as non-medicare doctors.
