Shawn say: One reason we can't go to light speed on manned spacecraft is because the acceleration could sever a major artery to your heart and kill you, but mostly we can't go to light speed at all because we can't get enough thrust. There isn't enough fuel on the ship, because you need a LOT of fuel for that.
