Why can't a spaceship fly at light speed?

UNLESS youre in Hollywood - There they do that twice a week !!......
jason say: No
-
say: DARPA has perfected the warp engine , so they can .
-
oldprof say: As it approaches light speed it's inertia grows exponentially. Eventually it's mass is so great that there is insufficient energy (force) in the whole universe to accelerate that ship one iota more to reach light speed.
-
redd headd say: The limit is the wave lengths of the materials of the vessel that you are trying to push . there are particles that exceed light speed but they only have a life of nano seconds. you would end up losing your ability to hold your body together, as your molecules would deconstruct.
-
Shawn say: One reason we can't go to light speed on manned spacecraft is because the acceleration could sever a major artery to your heart and kill you, but mostly we can't go to light speed at all because we can't get enough thrust. There isn't enough fuel on the ship, because you need a LOT of fuel for that.
-
David say: no effect on the human if within the spacecraft. Watch Startrek LOL
-
rick29148 say: We don't know, we can only guess ...... UNLESS you're in Hollywood - There they do that twice a week !!
