Athena say: Yes, by simple laws of physics a sun is always bigger than a planet.
-
Michael say: YES. Mike
-
Tamzyn say: Yeah, WAY bigger.
-
Tom S say: Much bigger, the Sun contains about 98% of the mass of the entire solar system, and over a million times the Earth's volume.

Poseidon say: Hello Jennifer,
The Sun's diameter is 1,390,000 km (863.706 miles) while the Earth's is 12,742 km (7918 miles)
Therefore the Earth will fit snuggly into the sun 1.3 million times
As you can see the Sun is considerably bigger than our teeny Earth.

quantumclaustrophobe say: It's about 100 times larger in diameter, and about 1.3 *million* Earths could fit inside the sun.
-
Chris Ancor say: No it is bigger.
-
spot a say: The sun is a sphere with a diameter of 864,400 miles (1,391,000 kilometers)
this is about 109 times larger than the diameter of the earth at 7,972.6 miles (12756.2 kilometers) The sun has a volume 1,296,634 times that of the earth
The number of spherical earths that would fit inside the sun (if they didn't melt) is pi / sqrt (18) *1391000 / 12756.2 = 960,132 earths

Nyx say: The sun is larger, by just a lot.

tham153 say: about 108times larger if by "world" you mean Earth
-
Vince say: Yes. The sun (which is actually a medium/small sized star) is so big that all of the planets in our solar system, including Jupiter and Saturn, could fit inside it easily. On the other hand, there bigger stars in the universe that completely dwarf our sun.
-
Gary B say: 1100 times bigger!
-
CarolOklaNola say: Yes, the Sun is MUCH bigger than Earth is. 1,3000,000 Earths would fit into the Sun.
