But the thing it is in constant Velocity , velocity meaning specific direction and magnitude. Now time travel in fiction same travel but it shown to change direction and magnitude is changed. Now seeing it this way doesn't it seem much easier? Now the problem of achieving such thing is not just the technology but another important aspect people often overlook is energy required to run the technology (even if somebody achieves that). It could use almost near a complete star/sun to fuel such a technology bending dimensions.
Now if we will ever be able to develop in both aspects is anybody's guess. Personally I believe time travel might be developed where we might be able to look into past, just a view of things that happened but won't be able to interact with anything cause mind you it will be just like a recording to be viewed. Just like with so many stars we see that don't even exist anymore.
