I'm not a flatearther, but I have never understood the evidence behind sphrical Earth. All I have read is that Christopher Colombus went here and there with his ship and the Earth turn out to be flat, I didn't get it, it was really vague. Crap like that. What is the actual evidence? Thank you

answers:
Joshua say: You can see the Earths shadow on the moon during a lunar eclipse. That's the best evidence. Watch the moon tonight...take a picture of it. Then go to Australia and look at the moon again. It will appear to be upside down because you're viewing the moon from the other side of the earth. You can watch ships disappearing in the horizon, a little at a time. First the bottom, then the middle, and finally the smoke stack. It's dark 3 hours earlier on the east coast than the West coast. If the earth was flat, you could ALWAYS see the sun.

Dump the liberals into Jupiter say: The stars you can see in the sky change their positions just as they would if the observer were wandering around the surface of a spherical Earth. These changes do NOT occur as they would if Earth were flat. It really is that simple.

spot a say: Eratosthenes of Cyrene around 240 BCE measured the angle of a shadow at Alexandria at noon when the sun was directly overhead at Syrene (now called Aswan). By measuring the distance from Syrene to Alexandria and doing some math he was able calculated the circumfrence of the earth
Christopher Columbus did not circumnavigate the earth. Magellan set out to do this in 1519 but he was killed in the Philippines. His officer, Juan Sebastian Elcano, completed the journey in September 1522 with the only ship remaining from the fleet.
