What are we before we exist

i've always wondered about this, most people will say "nothing".

This is a great question. IF only we knew the answer. Since we are made up of star stuff, what makes us up has existed for about 13.7 billion years. What put the stuff together correctly to make humans is the appropriate combination of chemicals and natural selection. What gave us consciousness is not well understood and has been the continued driver for religions everywhere.

To know what "we" were before the existence of the universe, you would need to go back in time before the "big bang" but even then I suspect we would still ask what was before that.

I think this is purely a matter of opinion or belief. Some religions believe in reincarnation and therefore before you existed in this body, you existed in some other form. I personally think that we are in the same state before we are born as we are once we die, and that is exactly as you stated...'nothing'. But blissfully unaware of it in any case.

Non-existent as a being...but the energy which makes us up has always been around as energy can only change form, not disappear.

I did not exist for billions of years before I was conceived and it did not cause me any inconvenience at all, so its not anything to worry about :)

Define "we"....

Only as Your Soul, without a body in the Heaven.

We are but energy... Floating throughout the world.

maybe we are not meant to know or find out and were just a miniscule part of a never ending universe..
