I like to mix chemicals and make my own preparations. I learn more that way. Recently I made my own water-bed conditioner using sodium thiosulphate. It was less expensive to make it myself buying the chemical than buying it ready made. It was fun to research and now I have a longer shelf life with the chemical in a dry form until I prepare the solution. I am not sure what form of science you would call this except hands on.

I make up crossword puzzles and the chemical abbreviations help fill in the small spaces.
