Purchase an LED bulb, LED bulbs come in different sizes and colors, including white, ultraviolet and red.Unscrew the head of the flashlight and set aside.Remove the incandescent bulb by gently grasping the bulb and pulling it straight out.Set the new LED bulb next to the removed incandescent bulb and trim the leads on the LED bulb with nippers to match the length of the incandescent bulb leads. Insert the LED bulb into the flashlight bulb socket. You may need to adjust the width of the leads by pinching them closer together with your fingers, but make sure that the leads are not touching when you insert the bulb into the socket.Turn the flashlight on to see if the bulb illuminates. If it does not, remove the LED bulb, spin it 180 degrees and re-insert the bulb into the flashlight.Replace the head of the flashlight.

Some of the better flashlights, like Mag light, have a conversion setup. You could buy the diodes, capacitors, resistors, etc and build one yourself, but it would probably be a lot cheaper to just buy the LED Flashlight.
