Not sure what else I could've called it so I just said skin. But in other words, how can scientists tell that dinosaurs didn't have feathers, fur, etc etc. just by examining their bones? Not doubting their research, discoveries or w/e, I'm just curious how they could tell.

When dinosaurs died they usually turned to dust. Some were preserved as fossils if covered over swiftly. Sometimes, with the right conditions, the animal can be covered over so soon after death that the flesh doesn't rot right away, and the skin impression is pressed into the rock and we see the skin pattern. To date, no one has found actual dinosaur skin.

they can't. They just make a well educated guess and people jump on the wagon until everyone
"accepts" it as fact. when its only a theory.
crocodiles are related to birds not lizards
IMO dinosaurs had feathers. So t-rex would have been one big *** KFC meal.

yes no-one knoews the answer... I actually writea bout this in my book... the skin couldhave been striped or polka-dotted or whatever , but as you say it may heve bee furry. I doubt however if it had feathers since these will leave a fossil record.
