I just turned 16 recently. Until I was 13 or 14 I wanted to become an engineer since my dad was a role model (he was an engineer). As I kept getting older, I realized I didn't really want to become an engineer although math and science (I really like physics out of all the sciences) is my forte (I saw what engineers did at work). When I turned 15 I was leaning more towards becoming a doctor.
But everything changed when my dad had a major car crash 3 days ago, it was in the Toronto local news everywhere. They closed that freeway for 6-8 hours. He will need 1 month+ to recover. When I was in the hospital waiting to see my dad I saw other ill people. An old lady in her 70's was just limping, shaking, and she seemed to have memory issues and blanked into space often. I felt really bad for her, I wish I could have done something. My dad is occasionally pissing out blood...
Now I am really wanting to become a doctor or a surgeon.

You don't really say what your reasons for wanting to become a doctor or surgeon are, so I don't know if they are good reasons or not. Are you saying what happened to your dad is your reason? If so, that's very, very shallow for a reason. Did it make you want to learn how the body works and how to fix it? Did it make you want to help people? Didi it make you want to save lives? How did what happened to your dad change you to make becoming a doctor a serious option?

Go for it. Whatever your reasons are, they don't make too much difference as long as you want to help people. Don't base your future on what an anonymous stranger on the internet tells you to do. You need to answer important questions like this on your own. You're only 16 though. Walk the path that's right for you, but don't become blind to better options down the road.
