I was told that these e-ray machines can spot the smallest of anything that might be in someones body. Are these x-rays done in color? My friend was scheduled to have an MRI today. They called to cancel . Saying they needed to do blood work first. Isthe Doctor being cautious? They found a large mass behind his pelvicarea. Dr. said he had never seen anything like it before. Nor has he seen it in the area that it was spotted. He initially went in for x-rays because his hips were bothering him. His hips were fine. That's when this discovery was made.
Anyone with some info would help ease my anxiety over this.
Thanks

Its not scary to have an MRI, unless your claustrophobic in which case it would be an uncomfortable experience.
Ive had two MRI's and you basically lie on a flat bed type thing and they put you in a machine-makes a bit of noise but you get headphones and they scan your body.
It is in colour but I doubt you'll get to see any results, or your friend, because they analyse it and just tell you what the verdict is.
Its painless and not dangerous in any way, and its over in 45 mins to an hour. Dont worry about the MRI and its routine when something is suspected to be wrong to do tests like this.
Its a positive thing your friend is getting an MRI because if he is ill then it will be picked up, but even a large mass doesnt automatically mean terrible things.it could be a benign mass.

An MRI isn't bad. You lay down on a bed that moves, they give you headphones so you can listen to music and they move the bed into a giant magnet.
Lay down, relax, enjoy the music. You'll be fine.
