side effects of the doxycycline hyclate pill?
so i think iv been on this pill for about a month now? im 13? taking it for acne? and this rather middle size spot appears after waking up in the morning and its really smooth like plastic, and its kinda reddish colored and its like, under my right cheek on the bottom edge of my face, and it kinda burns if i stretch out my face, and its sorta peeling... is this normal do u think? and should i peel it off? also if any part of my face is peeling should i peel it off? like the white skin flakes? just if u can, tell me anything u can about side effects of this pill also what i should do about them? thaaaank u so much
also my mom said this pill is supposed to peel away all my skin and have a new layer of skin grow over it so the acne will basically peel off? is this really what happens? and is this whats happening now? so i shouldnt peel off that red patch?

The pill you're taking can cause you to have increased sensitivity to the sun. What I suspect is that the red area may be due to sun exposure that wouldn't have normally bothered you.
That being said, the pill is an antibiotic. It is NOT meant to have your skin peel in any way.
My recommendation for you is to discontinue the drug, at least temporarily, and let your doctor know what has happened. In the mean time, try to avoid extended exposure to the sun, and use sun screen.
