Is speech therapy considered as part of the biomedical field

I'm trying to figure out if in want to join BCA (Biomedical Career Academy) @ my hs, but I don't really think speech therapy/pathology pertains much to biology or the medicine. I'm not sure. But BCA is gong to screw up my schedule next year, so I don't know if it's worth it, but then again it may help because I'm not taking honors next year. I don't know what to do o.o ...I want to stay a least a little competitive for college...even if i am only going to CSU (which is actually the school of my choice, because I love cali and live of state, but it's certainly no ivy league school....so everythng should be all good right?....idk I'm totally freaking out and I'm only going into my sophomore year lol)

Speech pathology is heavily scientific and medically-oriented, particularly in hospital practice.
Neuroanatomy and physiology, anatomy and physiology of the vocal tract, study of birth defects (including some genetics and knowledge of surgical techniques used by various types of surgeons), videostroboscopy of voice, videofluoroscopy of swallowing, voice prostheses, neurological conditions/degenerative diseases, audiology principles with physics of sound, pulmonary compromise, medically fragile elderly and infants, etc. are all part of what a speech pathologist does.
