..= (2)^2 - (-2)^2[x=2,= 0-wtf is ^ meant to be?......
if x = 2 and y = -2, then what is the value of x^2 - y^2
Explain your steps.
:)

Ok Lily---

The answer is 0 and here's why.
x^2 = 2^2 = 4
y^2 = (-2)^2 = 4

and x^2 - y^2 = 4- 4 = 0.

-
Zero. 2 times 2 equals 4. -2 times -2 equals 4 bc negative times negative is positive. So 4 - 4 equals zero. Anything squared is just it times itself, to elaborate.

-
Yes, very easy points...

4 - 4 = 0

There really are no steps to explain. What is 2 squared? What is -2 squared? 4 and 4. So... 4 - 4 = 0

-
assuming that ^ means: "to the power of" -- then the value of x^2 - y^2 = 0

2^2 = 4
-2^2 = 4
4 - 4 = 0

-
0

2^2-(-2)^2
4-4
0

-
2^2 - (-2)^2 = 4-4 = 0

-
x^2-y^2

= (2)^2 - (-2)^2 [x=2, y=-2]

= 4-4
= 0

-
wtf is ^ meant to be?
