what are you trying to do, solve for x? if so:

-3.5x + 2(x-2) + 4.75 = 10 - 3 1/4
-3.5x + 2x - 4 + 4.75 = 6.75
-1.5x + 0.75 = 6.75
-1.5x = 6
x = -4

I couldn't find one-step multiplication by myself, but maybe you can have some luck!!

change the decimals to fractions, and use your brain and solve it: ill set up the starting equation for you and you figure it out.

-14/4+2x-16/4+19/4=40/4-13/4
starting equation
2x-11/4=27/4

-3.5x + 2x - 4 + 4. 75 = 6.75
1.5x + .75 = 6.75
1.5x = 6
x = 4
