Help with algebra 1 question

- { - |-3| (-2 -m) - 4} =-2{ (-3 -m)-2m}
heres how I did it:
- { -3(-2 -m) - 4} =-2{6m+2m^2}
- {6m+3m- 4}= -2{6m+2m^2}
-6m-3m+4 = -12m - 4m^2
-9m+4 = -12m - 4m^2
3m+4= - 4m^2
but then I cant do any more! Im supposed to reduce it until I know what M is. Did I do a step wrong? Please help!!! and lease show your work step by step, or explain my mistake to me, don't just give me the right answer.

may be the problem: (-3 -m)-2m} are you sure this is multiplication? if there is no sing of multiplication then is not.
also -3(-2 -m): (-3)*(-2) = 6 NOT 6m

this how I will do it

- { - 3 (-2 -m) - 4} =-2{ (-3 -m)-2m}

- { 6 + 3m - 4} =-2{ -3 -m -2m}


- { 2 + 3m } =-2{ -3 -3m}

-2 - 3m = 6 + 6m

-2 - 6 = 6m + 3m

-8 = 9m

-8/9 = m

- { - |-3| (-2 -m) - 4} =-2{ (-3 -m)-2m} // if m=(-8/9) then .6=.6 or ORIGINAL equation keyword original
- { - |3| (-2 -m) - 4} =-2{ (-3 -m)-2m}
- { - 3 (-2 -m) - 4} =-2{ (-3 -m)-2m}
3(-2-m)+4=-2{ (-3 -m)-2m}
-6-3m+4=-2{ (-3 -m)-2m}
-3m-2=-2(-3 -m)+4m
-3m-2=6+2m+4m
-2-6=2m+4m+3m //equation has now changed, both sides still equal
-8=9m //equation changed again
-8/9=m //equation equals m

(x-m)-2m = x-m-2m
and
(x-m)(-2m) = -2xm-2m^2

if your notation is right then -8/9 is your answer, but you might want to double check for yourself.

-{-|-3|(-2-m)-4}= -2{(-3-m)-2m}
simplify
-{-3(-2-m)-4}= -2{(-3-m)-2m}
use distribution to multiply out the -3
-{6+3m-4}= -2{-3-3m}
distribute the negative
-6-3m+4= 6+6m
-3m-2=6+6m
get the 'm' by itself
-2=6+9m
-8=9m
-8/9=m

In the third line, check your answer!
When you distributed the -3, you accidentally added an m.

It should be:
-(6+3m-4)
From there, it will change from -9m+4 to -3m-2.
