50.30 = 11.80t + 9.81t^2

9.81t² + 11.80t - 50.30 = 0
a t² + b t + c

Quadratic Formula:
t = [-b ± √(b² - 4ac)]/(2a)

Put it all in a standard form.
50.30 = 11.80t + 9.81t^2
9.81t^2 + 11.80t - 50.30=0

and now just use the quadratic formula to find the roots.
