Multi-Step Inequalities

............
Can you both solve and explain the following problems please? Easy ten points! :)

3(2x-5) ≥ 8x-5
Answer: x ≤ -10/10 ? :/

7+3y > 2y-5

3(a-2) > 5a-2(3-a)

I find myself struggling most with the third.
Your help is greatly appreciated. Math just isn't my forte. :p

3(2x-5) ≥ 8x-5.....................Distribute

6x - 15 ≥ 8x - 5
-6x...........-6x

-15 ≥ 2x - 5
+5.............+5

-10 ≥ 2x
****.....***
.2.........2

-5 ≥ x..............ANSWER

Answer: x ≤ -10/10 ? :/SORRY.....INCORRECT

7+3y > 2y-5
..-2y....-2y

7 + y > -5
-7........-7

y > -12

3(a-2) > 5a-2(3-a)

3a - 6 > 5a -6 +2a

3a - 6 > 7a - 6
-7a........-7a

-4a - 6 > -6
.......+6....+6

-4a > 0
****...***
-4.....-4............REMEMBER, when you divide by a NEGATIVE to turn the inequality sign around

a < 0

Math may not be your "forte" but we all have our strong poits and the worls needs us all

Beside you always have me to ask

Have a great day

3(2x-5) ≥ 8x-5
or, 6x-15 ≥8x-5
or, 6x-8x ≥ -5+15
or, -2x ≥ 10
or, 2x≥-10 (multiply both side by - sign.)
So, x≥ -5 (divide both side by 2)

7+3y > 2y-5
or, 3y-2y>-5-7
or, y>-12

3(a-2) > 5a-2(3-a)
or,3a-6>5a-6+2a
or, 3a-6>7a-6
or, 4a>0
So, a>0
