1 : 4 ratio, whats the pure substance in total 125ml? Maths question..

in a ratio of 1 : 4 a pure substance is diluted to give a total amount of 125 mL...

so the question is asking for how much the pure subtance would be

obvisouly one four of that 125ml which I got 31.25 mL when divded by 4..

so I answered in a ratio of 1 : 4 the pure subtance is 31.25 mL from total of 125 mL.. Am I correct??

its also asking to give the answer to the nearest whole number... so is 31.25 ml can be taken as a whole number? sorry guys im soo dumb at maths! lol..

1/4 = P/(125-P)
125-P = 4P
5P=125
P = 25 mL
