10. How many boxes of pens did Robert buy?-base = 6,1.1a+2.3b=35.......
The height of a triangle is 9 inches greater than its base. If the area of the triangle is 45 square inches, find the height of the triangle.

Robert buys a total of 21 boxes of pens and pencils altogether at a factory outlet. Each box of pens costs $1.10. Each box of pencils costs $2.30. The total cost is $35.10. How many boxes of pens did Robert buy?

a+b=21
1.1a+2.3b=35.10

substitute/eliminate a = -1b+21
substitute/eliminate b = +10
Solution: a = 11; b = 10;
