Find a: (fog)(x)
Find b: (gof)(x)

-
(fog)(x)
= f(x^2+2)
= 5-2(x^2+2)
= 5 - 2x^2 -4
= 1 - 2x^2

(gof)(x)
= g(5-2x)
= (5-2x)^2+2
= 25- 20x + 4x^2 +2
= 4x^2 - 20x +27

Note:The guy above me Is dead wrong for both question.

-
a) 5-2(x^2 + 2) = 5 - 2x^2 -4 = 2x^2 +1
b) (5-2x)^2 + 2 = (5-2x)(5-2x) + 2 = 25 -10x -10x +4x +2 = -16x + 27
I could be off but I think that is right

-
a)
f ( g (x) ) = f ( x ² + 2 ) = - 2( x ² + 2 ) + 5 = - 2 x ² + 1

b)
g ( f(x) ) = g ( 5 - 2 x ) = ( 5 - 2 x ) ² + 2 = 27 - 20x + 4 x ²
