This is why Im confused:we had an example problem like this where it asked how far a girl walkedin 137 SECONDS if she was going 6.02 m/s. My homework question is asking for 34 MINUTES. Do I have to convert the minutes into seconds before I can solve it?-How many seconds are there are in a minute? So the answer to your question is 0.......
We just started this new chapter on displacement and velocity and I'm already a little lost. This is the problem:

"Heather and Matthew walk eastward with a speed of 0.98 m/s. If it takes them 34 min. to walk to the store, how far have they walked?"

This is why I'm confused: we had an example problem like this where it asked how far a girl walked in 137 SECONDS if she was going 6.02 m/s. My homework question is asking for 34 MINUTES. Do I have to convert the minutes into seconds before I can solve it?

How many seconds are there are in a minute? 60

So you have 34 lots of a minute (34 x1) or to put it in terms of seconds you have 34 lots of 60 seconds (34 x 60)

So the answer to your question is 0.98 x 34 x 60
