I am taking a Discrete Math class in college next semester and I have no idea what to expect. What kinds of questions will I be asked? What are the major topics (i.e. taylor series and integrals in calc 2, partial derivatives/multiple integrals in calc 3, etc)?
I understand that discrete math involves integers (as opposed to continuous math such as calculus), but I would like to have a better understanding of what kinds of problems I will have to do, what topics will be covered, and maybe some vocab words . . . anything you guys think will help, please share!

Basically, discrete mathematics is more logic based math involving sets (which are usually finite). Think more like arrays than vectors (best way I can put it. And I can tell you're a Comp Sci major if you're taking a discrete math course).
The topics in courses vary from college to college (I learned about partial derivatives in calc 2), but I learned about different proofs (proof by contradiction, induction), logic (logic tables, the pigeonhole principle), set theory, and other things.
It's not really hard, just study and you should be fine. Good luck :D

basically you have to learn what an OR gate is and what an AND gate is, then learn that && is and and || is or and ! is the NOT operator
thats about the depth of it at my school, but it took a semester to learn all that
