When crystals form, why are they smaller than man-made crystals

when they speed up the process it allows more time for the crystal to grow large, in some cases very large.for instance, in nature the temperature & pressure required to make crystals varies depending on the type of crystal, and depending on the type of crystal each pressure and temperature range has to be specific and exactly right, otherwise it wont grow,......
Well, that is my question. Why? I need the answer asap

because in nature conditions have to be very specific for a crystal to even begin to grow,
never mind grow large.
when manufactured in a lab, scientists can re-create these exact conditions a lot more easy than they occur in nature.
speeding up the crystal growing process. when they speed up the process it allows more time for the crystal to grow large, in some cases very large.

for instance, in nature the temperature & pressure required to make crystals varies depending on the type of crystal, and depending on the type of crystal each pressure and temperature range has to be specific and exactly right, otherwise it wont grow, and this heat & pressure source has to come from the earth, certain crystal making solutions may be the exact "recipe" for a certain type of crystal to grow, but this solution may not be in the right place, i.e. it may not be hot enough, or the pressure squeezing the atoms together into molecules may not be enough.
in a lab humans can re-create any temperature and amount of pressure they want, therefor creating ideal, perfect growing environments for the crystals to grow.
in nature it would take a long time for the water to precipitate from the crystal bearing solution,
but in the laboratory we can speed up this process, effectively at the touch of a button.

also in nature certain elements have to come together, almost by chance, to make a crystal of a certain type, but again, in a lab scientists have these elements on hand, readily available to mix together into a crystal solution, so we are doing natures work for her, so to speak. . .

hope that makes a wee bit of sense, nothing can beat a real crystal though,
and by real, i mean a naturally grown crystal from the earth, that took millions of years to grow.
they are one of the most beautiful things on the earth. and the largest crystals on the planet are actually natural ones, check out the national geographic CRYSTAL CAVES documentary. . .

Smaller crystals will form in a rapidly cooling environment. In nature, there is typically little room for crystals to grow. Sometimes, in rare cases, you can have extremely large natural crystals. In a lab,you can create crystals in an open environment to allow the crystal to grow as large as you want.

Um, i think you will find man made crystels are smaller. Dumasses.
