Red dwarfs, more deadly than any meteor.

The supermassive black hole that IS at the centre of the galaxy will not swallow the rest of the galaxy - the stars and clouds of dust and gas orbit the centre, the only way they could be swallowed by the central black hole is if they all lost all their momentum and spiralled inward.Thats NOT going to happen.3. A little science education is cheap yet worth so much........
If there really is a Giant red dwarf at the center of the milky way, How long will it take for the galaxy to be swallowed?

1. There is no giant red dwarf at the centre of the galaxy.
2. The supermassive black hole that IS at the centre of the galaxy will not swallow the rest of the galaxy - the stars and clouds of dust and gas orbit the centre, the only way they could be swallowed by the central black hole is if they all lost all their momentum and spiralled inward. Well there's no such thing as a red dwarf at the center of the galaxy. There are white dwarfs, and brown dwarfs. They're just used up stars. Red dwarfs are just small stars. Much smaller than our Sun. There are millions of them out there, they're not dangerous at all. There's a super massive black hole at the center of the galaxy. Also no danger. Black holes aren't like in the movies. They're just objects with a whole lot of gravity. Nevertheless it's just gravity. They're not some kind of super sucking machines that "swallow" up everything.

The oldest star in the Milky Way galaxy is more than 13 BILLION years old. Apparently the black hole (not a red dwarf) in the center is not any particular threat to anything.

There is nothing magical about a black hole. Objects can orbit that just like the earth orbits the sun, and about 600 billion stars do that right now.

You can learn a lot by comparing the explanations in these links. They are two different theories for the same thing.

Um, your information is wrong. There is a supermassive black hole at the center of the galaxy (presumably).

And Red dwarf is a british television show.
