For my major, i need a chemistry elective. Does that mean there are different types of chemistry? if so, what would be the best choice for someone who is not great with math equations?

An elective is a course which can be taken voluntarily. This implies you have a choice between one and another. It does not emply that there are not prerequisites for the elective course.
Are there different types of chemistry. You must be a troll. Why no, once you have taken the ONE chemistry course that exists, there aren't any others. It is such a small subject. Its not like everything you see around you and all of your feelings, thoughts and actions are chemical.... (sarcasm ← I want to make it explicit since otherwise I'm afraid you might not get it).
It looks like having no head for mathematics is the least of your weaknesses. Given your educational strengths (?) I suggest looking for a course on "Chemistry for Liberal Arts" "Chemistry for Daily Living"
or similar 00 - 100's level course.
