A mixture of gold, zinc and mercy contains 0.225lb of gold, 253g of zinc and 75.0mL of mercury (density =13.6 g/mL). Find the % composition of each of the three metals in the mixture.

convert gold lb to mass. Note that lb is a measure of force and not mass, but it can be converted to mass if given gravity (ie. 1 lb is 453 grams on Earth).
.225lb * (453 grams/lb) = 102 grams of gold
253g of zinc = 253 grams of zinc
75mL * (13.6g/mL) = 1020 grams of mercury
total mass = 102 + 253 + 1020 = 1375 grams
