Remember that light is energy, and when chlorophyll a absorbs the light, the energy is used to oxidize chlorophyll.The chlorophyll a ejects an electron that is picked up by the electron transport chain of photosystem II where the energy is used to make ATP and NADPH.......
Include a discussion of the role played by the photosystem, reaction center, and primary electron acceptor.

I would appreciate your help! We haven't gone over this in class yet and the book does not clearly explain chlorophyll a too much!

The different pigments in the reaction center each absorb different wavelengths of light, and convert those wavelengths to wavelengths absorbed by chlorophyll a. Remember that light is energy, and when chlorophyll a absorbs the light, the energy is used to oxidize chlorophyll.
